- The library is the grid of elements on the right side of the screen (currently covered by these instructions). The library contains all the elements you can place in your custom maze. To select an element, click on it. You can now place it on the map. Double-clicking on the blank space or normal block elements will fill the map with squares of that type.
- The map is the 6x6 grid to the left. This is where you design your maze and eventually play it. Once you've selected an element from the library, click on the map to place it, or click and drag to place multiple of the same element. Click on an arrow at the edge of the map to shift each space over by one row or column. Click Play Maze! to test your custom level, or Main Menu to leave the editor at any time.
- The small grid of characters at the bottom right of the screen is a textual representation of your custom maze. Clicking Copy will copy the contents of this box to your clipboard, allowing you to share or save your custom mazes (in a text file, for instance). If you've copied a Maze Quest custom maze from somewhere else, clicking Paste will insert it from your clipboard, allowing you to edit or play it.
